Girl’s Weekend

We have company for the weekend.
Taylor made her 1st airplane ride to NJ,
accompanied by Tiff.
They packed up and boarded a 6AM flight!
Our hearts are overflowing
just having her in our home.
We’re headed to my niece’s bridal shower today,
where Taylor will be meeting a few family members
for the first time.
Of course, we miss big sister, Harper.
Enjoy the weekend!
Love and hugs.

I’m So Martha

Public Service Announcement!
Don’t ignore those dormant Forsythia branches
in your gardens.
Next time you’re passing by, clip a few stems,
bring them indoors,
put them in a nice vessel of water,
and,
In a few days.....
Boom!
It’s Spring!

Love And Tenderness

So where does love come from?
Is it in your veins?
Does everyone find love?
Where does it live?
How does it grow?
How do you know when you’re in love?
What does it mean to be in love?
How do you show true love?
Is love always fun?
Is it real? Will it die?
Can you fake love?
Can you share love?
Can you know love?
Yes.
Just follow your heart,
and you will
Love.

Hope and Love

All Winter
the blue heron
slept among the horses.
I do not know the custom of herons,
do not know
if the solitary habit
is their way,
or if he listened for
some missing one-
not knowing even
that was what he did-
in the blowing sounds
in the dark.
I know that hope
is the hardest thing we carry.
He slept with his
long neck folded,
like a letter put away.

The Girls

A friend once told me
that having a grandchild
would fill a void
I never knew I had.

Smartest advice ever.

I look forward to a trip to Trader Joe's with the girls
to buy Taylor her 1 year old bouquet!

Happy New Year!

What a difference a year makes.

Last New Year’s Day was frigid.
I can remember the stinging,  bitter cold.
This morning it feels like Spring.
The sweet birds are chirping, the crocus are appearing.
The new year gives
me hope.
Opportunities, dreams, aspirations and growth.

Wishing you a heartfelt thank you,
and a Happy New Year!
 With love and hugs.

September

The hay fields are mowed.
The days are shorter, but the temperature is still very warm.
The humidity is in high gear.
The local farm stands are bountiful.
School buses start rolling fresh today.
Nervous little children begin a new school year.
The Summer didn’t exist for me.
It was a time of healing and reflecting.
Learning once again
to stand on my own two feet.
Take nothing for granted.
Enjoy the most simple gifts of life.
Spread Love.

Sunday

Ah, Sunday.
August.
And it’s breezy.
It’s quiet.
It’s my favorite time of day.
I hope there’s peace around the planet.
And plenty of love.
Hug the ones you’re with.

Mid Summer Dreams

There’s no flooding rainfall.
There’s no thunder.
Rainbows fill the sky.
Flowers bloom everywhere.
Birds sing their hearts out.
Gentle breezes guide them home.
Children laughing.
Families home together.
Joy is everywhere.

New Beginnings

The beaches are being restored.
The wanderes searching for lost treasures.
The sun poking her morning face.
The gentle waves soothing, cooling, restoring.
Enjoy this hot August day.
Love and hugs.

Roadside Surprise

I’m always so pleased to spot the unexpected.
On a walk earlier in the Spring,
I happened upon this little Clematis vine
just loving and
hugging a post.
It’s simplicity and color sparked joy!
It’s hot, so the Clematis are finished.
Now,
We welcome the Dahlias.
Stay cool.

When April becomes Mid-July

The blur of time.
From Spring to Summer.
Like a fast moving thunderstorm
pounding the earth,
a new day, a new breeze, a new bud.
A lesson of patience.
A lesson of Love.

Spring

I’m excited to plant Dahlias this year.
I think they’re becoming a  favorite flower.
To grow, to cut, to photograph.

Tuesday

A soft and gentle rain
 is falling this morning.
I can smell Spring
swelling.
Getting ready
to burst.
Getting ready
to blossom.
The little song birds
have discovered  their sweet voices once more.

Happy Tuesday!

For the Children

I read a post today that I’m sharing.

According to an artist in California,
high school students across America
are talking on message boards
making  April 20th
the day they all walk out of school.
And,
They won’t go back
until Congress updates the gun laws.
It’s their lives on the line.

Every child deserves to dream.
Every child deserves to love.

Baby Taylor Alice

Here she is!
Sweet baby, Taylor Alice!
Born in the middle of the night on a cold,
January 10th, in a little Wisconsin Village.
She's about to turn 1 month old,
and is enjoying life with her big sister
and her parents!
She's  lovable, adorable and as sweet as can be!
This photo is  the last one we took of her,
as we were saying our good bye’s,
and heading back home to NJ.

A precious little girl,
Taylor  is the newest little flower
in our family garden.
💖
We love you, sweet Taylor!
