Tides of Change

Good bye, 2017.

 When times are hard
you stop, think and realize
that in spite of your pain,
 the tides still roll in,
 the tides still roll out.
There is no stopping,
you have
no control.
The clocks still tick.
You want to say “wait, stop”,
But you can’t.
We are bits of sand
in the vast ocean of life.
The tides of life.
The years roll quickly.
 I hope yours
rolls quietly.
❤️
Happy New Year

Dad

A bitter cold December morning.
It’s as dark as dark can be.
The ground is icy cold and frozen.
It’s quiet and calm.
A candle flickers in the window.
No cake, no song, no celebration,
except in my heart.
Happy Birthday, Dad.
I love and miss you.

Music at Christmas

One of my favorite pieces of the
Christmas puzzle
is the music.
The carols, although old and vintage,
still ring true to my heart.
“The Little Drummer Boy”
 is my all time favorite,
but,  I love so many others.
They’re stories of love and adoration
with added whimsy and delight.
Fun and joy.
It’s bonafide Christmas love.
All is calm,  All is bright.

Happy Winter weekend.
I hope yours is calm and bright.

With love and hugs.
❤️

Winter

A time for quiet.
A time for darkness.
A time to think.
A time to slow down.
A time for respect.
A time to see.
A time to listen.
A time to love.
A time for peace.

Happy Winter!

Time

When the world is bustling around you,
and you want it to stop,
and you raise your hand
and your voice,
and you take notice
of the hurry.
Be still.
Be quiet.
Be mindful.
Be present.
Be you.

Mid December

There’s something about the quiet and calm
of fresh falling snow.
Bothering no one,
minding her own business,
Mother Nature delivers the most beautiful gifts.
And then, they’re gone.
Today was a gift to my Mom.
Many years ago.
Jimmy was born.
And then he too, was gone.
Treasure those you love,
and let them know.
Love is all you need.

Change

Good bye, November.
You brought joy, tears, love, and fear.
I can remember what seemed like yesterday
Being so happy to turn the calendar
to November.
In anticipation of our visit
to Whitefish Bay,
with little Miss Harper,
to share my daughter’s birthday with her,
Tim’s visit in WI,
 relative’s birthdays,
and finally,
 Our Thanksgiving Day with Mom.
The month would fly.
Everything changed.
Yet,
Everything remains the same.
A few little life curves,
new people, new experiences,
and tomorrow,
a new month.
Travel safely, Tim.
California is waiting for you,
and we can’t wait to visit!

Love and hugs

Life

We have each other
and the world.
Don’t be sorry
walk on out through sunlit life
and know
we’re on the go
for love
to open our lives
to walk
tasting
the sunshine
of life.

Happy Tuesday!

When Tiff was at
Lafayette College
we enjoyed a special shop in Easton.
It had the cutest little gifts,
and adorable cards,
(lots of quotes)
and unique goodies.
The shop has since closed,
but on Tuesdays I always think of it.
The shop’s  name
was
“Happy Tuesday”!

The Heart, Gratitude and a Birthday

I love it when my Birthday falls in the same week
as Thanksgiving Day.
It’s extra special this year.
It’s a big one too!
As a mega Birthday surprise,
Wes is currently in the OR
at Morristown Hospital
undergoing open heart surgery.
Love, prayer, gratitude, fortitude, courage, and strength.
It’s life in a nutshell.
Be well, take good care, enjoy the fun.
Happy Thanksgiving!
With love and hugs.

November

I love November.
It’s birthdays galore.
It’s gratitude.
It’s color.
It’s cool!
It’s beauty.
It’s peace and quiet and shorter days.
It’s Love.

October, yes, but almost November!

Such a beautiful harvest of color!
The rich Earth is getting ready to rest.
The trees are shutting down,
the last of the Summer blooms are fading,
the apples are falling to the ground,
and, the pumpkins are decorating the doorways.

September

September's light creates longer shadows.
The sun turns a deeper shade of gold.
The blue skies are intoxicating.
The earth is abundant with beauty.
Cool nights and warm days.
Let the goodness of September fill our hearts with gratitude.

Summer Glory

It's a joy to travel around my small, little town
and be surprised by the beauty of a patient gardener.
Happy August!

The Seventh Month

July is suddenly coming to a close.
The days are shorter,
The sun is strong.
The fawns are doubling in size.
The garden is bountiful.
After a month of soaking rain,
the streams are gushing.
The baby birds have left their nests.
The fireflies are dancing with the moon.
All is good with the Earth.

Sunday Morning

Contrary to previous years,
It's been quiet in the Winter department this year.
The sky, trees and lawns are mostly grey.
Occasionally,
a  Bluebird or a Cardinal will flutter by
and make my heart happy.
I'm grateful for the beautiful morning sunrise,
and the spectacular Winter sunsets.
The quiet of the woods,
the flicker of a candle,
the outrageous work of dedicated souls
protecting our rights of the Constitution
is what makes today a good one.

This was our front yard a few years back
On a snowy October morning.

Should The Fox Come Again To My Cabin In The Snow

Then,  the winter will have fallen all in white
and the hill will be rising to the north,
the night also rising and leaving,
dawn light just coming in, the fire out.

Down the hill running will come that flame
among the dancing skeletons of the ash trees.
I will leave the door open for him.

Happy New Year!

As the days become longer....
may your sun shine brighter,
may your clouds be fluffier,
may your winds be gentle,
and,
may your hearts be content.
Welcome, 2017!
