Holding On
Good Morning!
Hard to imagine
it's the end of September!
It's chilly here in NJ.
The early mornings are dark,
and the late afternoon sun
settles in earlier every day.
The humming birds
have gone home for winter.
There's transition happening.
Leaves are turning
Limbs are falling
Pumpkins are popping up
everywhere!
I'm hoping for a little bit
of Indian Summer,
hoping for some continued
motorcycle fun,
flip-flop weather,
short sleeves and new blossoms!

Rosie
I met this lady a long,long time ago.
I think it was about 1969.
I went with a special someone
to pick her up at work.
I remember she said "And who's THIS?"
We became friends on the spot.
I have a special love for this lady.
She's funny.
She's beautiful.
She's my Mother-In-Law.
And today....
is her Birthday!

Love Is In The Air
Today calls for celebration!
For these 3 kids.
Nan, Brad, and their kid!
It was the day
27 years ago
that they tied
the knot.
The Love Knot.
The I Do Knot.
Their knot has held tight.
Happy Anniversary, Nance and Brad,
from the bottom of my heart!
And, to quote Bruce, a couple of days
after his 60th birthday,

This Little Light of Mine
We had company this weekend.
My Sister-In-Law and her daughter
were with us after they dropped
her boy off at camp.
A grief camp known as
Comfort Zone Camp.
A non-profit that specializes
in care for grieving children.
We attended the closing ceremony today.
There was clapping and cheering..
Singing and dancing.
Testimonials and memorials.
Tears and fears tossed into the bonfire.
Children of all sizes, all ages,
all backgrounds, all with one common trait.
Sadness and loss.
It's a place for kids to come and smile.
To form new friendships, and to laugh out loud.
The theme of the weekend was "Lighthouses".
The kids painted a keepsake to help guide them
through life's "storms".
Teamed up with "buddies" the kids
weathered their own storms.
They shared their fears,and their tears.
They were helped and they were healed.
As I sat in the audience
with tears running down my cheeks,
I was reminded once more
of the fragility of life.
At the final closing circle,
all of the campers released a balloon
with a message to their loved one.
With a special thank you to Adam.
