Right in our back yard! There are many reports of Bald Eagle sightings in northwestern NJ. Here's a fine shot taken by a co-worker on his way into work yesterday. What a moment! Rumor has it the Eagle was feasting on a big fat Canadian Goose!
Interesting bit of trivia, that readers of this blog may or may not know; the bald eagle was not one of the preferred choices for the national bird of the US. In fact, Thomas Jefferson believed the bald eagle to be a poor choice as he believed it to be a scavenger of low character. Jefferson much preferred the turkey...appropriate as we approach the thanksgiving season!
I live in the bucolic hills of Northwestern NJ. I love many things. Natural light, the sky, bright colors and pastels. Words. Smiles, random rainbows, gentle breezes as well as strong, gusty wind. Flowers...they rock my world. I ride a Harley Davidson with a group of ladies. I keep my camera attached to my hip.
